Aristocracy destroys

A young British Aristokrat is the Nürnberger tradition enterprise Hans <<Brochier>> exhausted and into the insolvency floated. Now it sits in remand.

Rhodri Philipps, 40, is the prototype of a young British Aristokraten. The good-looking branch of an old walisischen aristocracy family wrongly in the best circles of London, it plays inspires Polo and is member in the noblen private club Walbrook. Genauer lässt sich da schon rekonstruieren, wo rund 200 000 Euro blieben, die insgesamt über Philipps' <<Brochier>>-Firmenkreditkarte abgebucht wurden. Unter den Abrechnungen der Mastercard mit der Nummer 5490017803012665 finden sich Belege über rund 21 000 Euro für den Cowdray Park Polo Club in Midhurst. Mit exakt 7441,02 Euro wurde die <<Brochier>>-Kreditkarte am 2. Februar 2007 bei dem berühmten Londoner Gewehrmacher James Purdey & Sons belastet. Hinzu kamen unter anderem gut 4000 Euro für Juwelierrechnungen, 12 000 Pfund für die Anmietung eines Privatjets - sowie zwei Abbuchungen über je rund 10 000 Euro für eine Spezialklinik in London.

Zudem soll mit Geldern aus Nürnberg ein Konto mit gut einer halben Million Euro bei der HSBC Bank in London eröffnet worden sein.

Offenbar sollte damit die von Philipps' Vater ins Leben gerufene Viscount St. Davids Stiftung alimentiert werden, die den Sängernachwuchs an der Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin fördern wollte. Von dem versprochenen Betrag ist nicht ein Euro angekommen, wie ein Opernsprecher bestätigt.

Ist also zumindest ein Großteil der eigentlich <<Brochier>> zustehenden Millionen in Philipps' Taschen gelandet, wie Nürnberger Fahnder vermuten? "Mein Mandant fühlt sich unschuldig, er wollte <<Brochier>> und LII zu blühenden Unternehmen machen", sagt sein Anwalt Sven-Thorsten Oberhof. Die von <<Brochier>> abgeflossenen acht Millionen an LII hätten quasi nur der Zwischenfinanzierung dienen und später wieder an die Nürnberger zurückfließen sollen.

Fakt ist: Während das für die Sanierung dringend benötigte <<Brochier>>-Geld so freizügig verteilt wurde, konnte das Unternehmen selbst kaum die Löhne zahlen und musste sich mit dem Verkauf von Baumaschinen über Wasser halten.

Als sich im vergangenen Sommer die Indizien häuften, dass <<Brochier>> von seinem neuen Eigentümer ausgenommen worden sein könnte, wäre es beinahe zum Fanal gekommen. In ihrer Wut stürmten Mitarbeiter die Chefetage - Philipps konnte gerade noch vor dem tobenden Mob fliehen. Er ließ sich nie wieder blicken.

Im August reichte der Betriebsrat der auf nur noch etwa 730 Mitarbeiter zusammengeschrumpften Firma dann selbst den Insolvenzantrag ein. Seither ermittelt auch die Nürnberger Staatsanwaltschaft gegen Philipps und weitere Verdächtige aus seinem geschäftlichen Umfeld.

Inzwischen sind die einzelnen Firmenteile der einstigen Hans <<Brochier>> verkauft, immerhin 80 Prozent der Arbeitsplätze konnten gerettet werden. Doch über die Raubrittermethoden des Rhodri Philipps schütteln sie heute in Nürnberg noch den Kopf. <<Brochier>>- Insolvenzverwalter Joachim Exner: "Da ist man doch froh, dass die Staatsanwaltschaft die Vorwürfe mit allem Nachdruck verfolgt."
